The MODA Mission
The MODA Mission is to deliver Education with Inspiration™. This is done using proven modern concepts of weight loss in a non-depriving, healthy way. In the last 30 years, the weight loss industry has seen no shortage of quick fixes and fads.
Contemporary nutritional knowledge indicates that there is no need to focus on any one particular macronutrient (e.g. by eliminating carbohydrates or focusing on protein). We no longer need to focus on drastic calorie restriction — instead, we must place more emphasis on the quality of the calories we take in. To put it simply: Eat real food!
“Don’t eat anything your great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food.”
As long as one consumes a balance of the right foods in reasonable amounts at proper intervals, he or she can eat a surprising amount and still lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.
The MODA Mission understands that many people need to adapt to lifestyle changes in a transitional way. It’s been my experience that too many people give up too quickly because they attempt to implement lots of changes all at once. For many of us, it took decades of unhealthy eating and living to result in our weight gain, so it’s unreasonable to think that a person can implement life-long change in a week or two. For Tony Vassallo, it took several weeks and, in some cases months, to implement all of the various aspects of his lifestyle change. Each person is different and Tony will work with you to incorporate changes at a pace that works for you.
“When you improve a little each day, eventually big things occur…Don’t look for the quick, big improvement. Seek the small improvement one day at a time. That’s the only way it happens – and when it happens, it lasts.” – John Wooden former UCLA coach
